    2015-16 Highly Qualified Teacher Report

    The No Child Left Behind (N.C.L.B.) Act of 2001 requires each Local Education Agency (L.E.A.) to publicly report progress of the L.E.A. and its campuses toward meeting the highly qualified teacher requirements.

    The following standards are required to be considered a Highly Qualified teacher:

    • Has obtained a full Texas teacher certification

    • Holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree

    • Demonstrates subject matter competency in each of the academic subjects taught

    • Competency is obtained by passing the Texas content exam and/or completing 24 college hours in the subject area taught
