Coach Trish Watson

AAJH Cheeleader Coach

   Coach Watson is a former Channelview ISD cheerleader. Beginning her cheer career at the age of 13 at Alice Johnson Junior High, she was announced most improved and became the only freshman to cheer on the 2004 CHS Varsity Cheer Squad. At 16, Coach Watson began doing choreography for cheerleading routines, cheers, chants as well as hip hop dance. She later became the first African American Cheerleading Captain for the CHS Varsity Cheer Squad in 2008. After graduating high school, Coach Watson continued her choreography career working for Power House Cheer, as head choreographer and camp director. She also began dancing on Fade to Black dance ensemble at SHSU, where she discovered her love for dance. In 2012, Coach Watson began working as a competitive cheerleading coach for PROStatus Cheer and Dance, where she currently coaches and does national award winning choreography. Coach Watson began coaching school cheer in 2013 for Baytown Junior School and was brought on to coach at Aguirre in 2014. Coach Watson is certified and trained by NCA, UCA and USASF, and is also a certified tumbling and stunt coach. She is excited to be working with such an amazing group of students at AAJH. She hopes to instill the leadership skills and the positive characteristics that she learned as a Channelview Cheerleader.
