Hello!

My name is Mrs. Alcantar, and I am a 6th grade math teacher at Alice Johnson Junior High. I am a graduate of the University of Houston, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Teaching and Learning.

In my classroom, I strive to create an environment that is beneficial to nurturing young minds. My hope is for my all my students to feel valued and heard. When they move on from my class, it is my goal that they leave with not only an understanding of math but also an appreciation for math.

Besides my passion for teaching, I enjoy traveling and sewing. I spend my weekends with my two dogs, one of which is a 160 pound Saint Bernard, and my husband. On longer weekends and extended breaks, I enjoy traveling with my husband and dogs.
