My name is Meikka Jackson, and I am your new Principal! I write this correspondence with tremendous enthusiasm and excitement to introduce myself as a new face to our school.
I am a proud native of Houston, Texas. As a young adult, I pursued my collegiate education at University of Houston-Downtown and Prairie View A&M University earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from these stellar institutions.
I enjoy investing in my spiritual well-being, riding motorcycles, watching movies, spending time with my family and friends and motivating others to be the best version of themselves.
As an educator with more than 19 years of classroom teaching and instructional leadership experience, I have learned the tremendous importance of establishing a culture of inclusivity and engagement in order to strive for success. It is my priority to ensure that we continue to foster a positive climate and safe learning environment for all students. Another aspect of creating an effective climate is understanding the need for teachers, parents, and students to work together to support our vision.
In our journey together, you will find that I am focused on what is best for students. We will work collaboratively to continue to design solutions that are learner centered and growth oriented. Most of all, I want us to find laughter, love, and learning in each day. I look forward to making new memories with our school community this remarkable year.
