This past Friday, October 11th, our former CHS students—Jayce Brown-Sumbera, Alexis Rojas, and Steve Nunez—graduated from the Select Technical Automotive Diesel Training Program!
These talented young men, who began their journey at Channelview High School with entry-level automotive technology certifications, have now earned nine additional certifications in Diesel Technology through our partnership with Select
Technical Institute. They are well on their way to promising careers as Diesel Technicians!
This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of our Director of Career and Technical Education, Ms. Mia Young. Her dedication to expanding our programs and building impactful partnerships has truly opened doors for our students.
We also want to extend a special thanks to our former Career-Based Learning Coordinator, Ms. Andrea Thompson Adebesin, whose knowledge and dedication helped forge this opportunity for our students.
Additionally, we deeply appreciate the hard work and mentorship provided by their teachers, Mr. Stansel and Mr. Preston, who guided them every step of the way.
Their accomplishments are a testament to the transformative power of our CTE programs. We're not just teaching skills; we’re shaping futures and changing lives.
Congratulations Jayce, Alexis, and Steve!
