Meet Mrs. Veronica Ramirez, a proud CHS graduate who has dedicated 31 years to serving Channelview ISD as a school nurse!

After graduating in the top 10% of her class in 1986, Mrs. Ramirez played trombone in the band and met her high school sweetheart—now husband. Today, she’s still giving back to her community, ensuring the safety and health of students at McMullan Elementary.

Mrs. Summers has been a dedicated member of the Channelview ISD family for 17 years. She started as a long-term shadow aide at Hamblen Elementary, then moved into inclusion support at Cobb Elementary, Aguirre Junior High, and Channelview HS.

Meet Mrs. Kimberly Robbins, Administrative Assistant for the Superintendent of CISD

Having grown up and graduated from Channelview ISD, Mrs. Kimberly Robbins has a deep-rooted connection to the district. Her journey began as a student at Cobb and Schochler Elementary, Alice Johnson Junior High, and Channelview High School, where she first developed her understanding of the community’s values and needs.

This close bond with the district fueled her desire to give back, starting her career as a Shadow Aide. Over the years, she steadily advanced, learning the ins and outs of the district from various perspectives. Today, as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Mrs. Robbins draws on her rich experiences to skillfully support district leadership, contributing to the ongoing success of the place she’s always called home.

Her story is one of dedication, growth, and commitment to Channelview ISD!

She proudly attended Cobb Elementary, De Zavala Elementary, Schochler Elementary, Alice Johnson Junior High, and Channelview High School.

Her journey through the district began as a substitute, then instructional aide, teacher, and later, Instructional Liaison. A standout highlight in her career has been organizing campus-wide activities that have enriched the school community. Her dedication has earned her recognitions like Campus Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Week!

"Back in my CHS days, I wasn’t on the football field—I was tearing up the motocross track! I even helped start the Motocross Club at CHS. And when I wasn’t racing, you could find me in the Drama Department, starring in plays."

Mrs. Laird’s journey is one for the books- Not only has she spent her entire 24-year career at Channelview ISD, but she also met her husband, Mr. Robert Laird, while attending Channelview High School! Now, their children are following in their footsteps, keeping the Channelview legacy alive!
