For the first time in Channelview High School HISTORY, the speech & debate team has QUALIFIED FOR THE NATIONAL SPEECH & DEBATE TOURNAMENT!
Davin Sims is going to IOWA in June to compete at the National Level in Original Oratory!
Davin wrote, memorized, and performed an originally written, 10 minute long, speech titled "Give Up." A motivational speech about the power of knowing when to quit things that no longer make you better and look to seek opportunities to grow, increase your self worth, and make positive changes to your mental health.
Davin Sims - a JUNIOR - placed THIRD at the NSDA (National Speech & Debate Association) District competition in Original Oratory!!
Davin Sims & Kyle Martin - both JUNIORS - placed 4th and 2nd Alternate to the NSDA National Tournament in POLICY DEBATE
Hannah Robinson - SENIOR - earned 2nd Alternate to Nationals in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI)
