This year the Visual Arts Department at Channelview High School will be sending seven students, with eight entries, to the Texas Art Education Association's State VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) Competition in San Marcos, Texas.
This is the second State VASE competition for Seniors, Mia Salinas (Teacher: Mrs. Tarbell), Melanie Solano (Teacher: Mrs. Start), and Hailey Ayala (Mrs. Myers). Juniors, Kiara Hernandez and Danielle Salazar, and Sophomore, Diana Godinez (all three taught by Mrs. Tarbell) will be attending the competition for the first time. Denise Quezada Esqueda, a Senior and first time State qualifier (Teacher: Mrs. Tarbell), will be representing CHS with two entries at State VASE. CHS is extremely proud of the accomplishments of these Falcon artists. Good luck at State on April, 27th!
