Dear Parents and Guardians,
In the upcoming three weeks, the State of Texas STAAR exams will be administered to our third through fifth-grade students. This evaluation will offer crucial insights into your child's mastery of grade-level concepts. It is imperative that all students are present and perform to the best of their abilities during this assessment. Here are some helpful suggestions to support your child's success:
Remind your child that they are well-prepared for the test and encourage a positive attitude.
Urge your child to utilize the various thinking strategies taught by their teachers during the exam.
Ensure your child gets rest the nights before testing and eats a nutritious breakfast on the testing morning.
Note that breakfast will be available at McGhee and will commence at 7:05 for students.
Please ensure your child arrives on time for testing to alleviate any potential anxiety.
Instruction begins at 7:45
We kindly request that students bring a dry snack that does not require cleanup.
The STAAR schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, April 16 - STAAR Test (ELAR 3-5)
Tuesday, April 23 - STAAR Test (Science 5)
Tuesday, April 30 - STAAR Test (Math 3-5)

Queridos padres y guardianes,
En las próximas tres semanas, se administrarán los exámenes STAAR del estado de Texas a nuestros estudiantes de tercero a quinto grado.
