This week, we also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the incredible CISD Social Workers who make a positive impact on the lives of students every day.
Channelview High School has achieved a historic milestone as the speech and debate team qualifies for the National Speech and Debate Tournament for the very first time!
This achievement is highlighted by Davin Sims, who will be representing CISD in Original Oratory at the upcoming national competition in Iowa this June.
Furthermore, Davin secured an impressive THIRD place at the NSDA District competition in Original Oratory. Additionally, the junior duo of Davin Sims and Kyle Martin claimed the 4th position and 2nd Alternate, respectively, for the NSDA National Tournament in Policy Debate.
Meanwhile, senior student Hannah Robinson achieved the 2nd Alternate position to Nationals in the Program of Oral Interpretation (POI).
This celebration is shared by all who have played a role in encouraging, motivating, and challenging the debaters. A special acknowledgment goes to our Channelview High School Debate UIL Academic Coordinator, Ms. Lindsay M. McGill, for your commitment and support to our students.
