Texas public schools are funded through a blend of local, state, and federal dollars—each playing a unique role in supporting student success.
Local funds come primarily from property taxes.
State funds are calculated on our students’ attendance using the state’s per student Basic Allotment. The district receives additional funds for certain programs like Career and Technical Education (CTE) and services for at-risk students.
Federal funds vary by district and in CISD, these funds make up the smallest piece of the pie and are targeted to support special education services.

Las escuelas públicas de Texas se financian mediante una combinación de fondos locales, estatales y federales, cada uno desempeñando un papel importante en el éxito estudiantil.
